Drama as family stages demo in mortuary

Anger, tension and disappointment on Tuesday gripped Migwani sub county hospital’s mortuary when family members stormed the facility baring taking one Joseph’s body for burial.

Joseph Mutua Mulatya was allegedly killed by his children and wife who according to hearsay who wanted to inherit his wealth.
The burial was set for Tuesday the family having done all the necessary preparations including digging a grave.
Unfortunately, the grave had to be filled with soil for the send off never took place.
‘Joseph’s remains will not be laid to rest unless a postmortem is conducted to determine the actual cause of death, ‘a member of the extended family said.
However, they accused the police of being biased for very little efforts have been made in terms of investing the said murder case.
‘ the wife and children of the deceased are flossing of their wealth claiming they have money. What is money compared to to one’s life,’ another relative wondered.
‘ the body will not be buried until all the suspects are brought to book and justice given to the late Joseph,’ Masaa Mulatya, a relative added.
Efforts by the police to calm the nerves of the rowdy crowd bore no fruits as they staged demonstrations inside the mortuary demanding the arrests of the culprits and also conducting of postmortem.
