Tv queen Jacque Maribe has been interrogated at the Directorate of Criminal Investigation headquarters over the use of her car by her fiancée Joseph Kuria Irungu aka Jowie in connection to the murder of Monicah Nyawira Kimani.
The Citizen Tv top journalist was picked as a person of interest after the detectives discovered that the car her fiancée was driving when he was spotted in Ms Kimani’s house before her body was discovered dead at her apartment is registered in Maribe’s name.
The Toyota Allion saloon car has been detained by the detectives and dusted for fingerprints.
Jackie Maribe presented herself to the DCI for questioning accompanied by her lawyer Katwa Kigen moments after detectives left her a message after attempts to call her failed.
Jacque Maribe’s fiancée, Joseph Kuria is the chief suspect in the murder of Monica Nyawira Kimani and is in police custody.
Monica Nyawira Kimani, a 28-year-old lady’s body was found dumped in a bathtub in her house in Lamuria Apartments on the afternoon of Thursday, September 20 with her throat slit.
The suspect has been a security guard for a private firm in Dubai and Afghanistan. He usually provides security for VIPs here in Kenya.
During a police parade on Tuesday, he was positively identified by four witnesses as the last man seen walking out of Kimani’s house on September 19.
According to police reports, the car Irungu was driving was spotted at the residence of the deceased on the day of the killing.
According to Monica Kimani’s brother George Kimani,the suspect, his sister and him were childhood friends but lost contact only for them to catch up again where Irungu and the deceased became friends.
George said her late sister and the suspect often hanged out together but there was no intimate relationship as the sister declined his once advances on her due to personal differences.
