Kyome Thaana Nzau MCA Alex Mwangangi has urged residents to make sure they turn up in large numbers and participate in public participation forums whenever they are announced as well as giving their opinions.
Speaking at a meeting in Kyome area,of Mwingi West, Mwangangi urged the county government executive to give enough time before public participation so that the locals can prepare themselves fully.
“Giving locals adequate time will help them come out in large numbers. This is why we have been getting few people in public participation,” he added.
He said devolution is supposed to reach to the locals in the village saying the assembly and executive should sit and see the way forward since many locals travel for a long distance to go to some venues set for the participation.
Alex added that some residents struggle to get something to eat after the participation so the county resources should be taken nearer to the locals.
Of late the locals have been complaining that they are not given adequate time to prepare adding that some public participation pass without their knowledge.
