The trio Ukambani Governors convene to fortify region’s economic manpower

In a bid to shine economically, the three County Chiefs from the three adjacent counties constituting Ukambani in the Eastern Region assembled at A.B.C Bomani in Machakos town for a lengthy economic talk on how to propel the trio counties forward economically through their Economic Bloc, South Eastern Economic Bloc (SEKEB).The governors further sought the best approaches to incorporate into their trade union that will enable the region meet other competitive Blocs in Kenya.This bloc was formed back in 2016 and aimed at fighting poverty, boosting trade and fortifying relations between these three counties.

The forum was officially convened by Africa Brotherhood Church (A.B.C) Archbishop Kenya and East Africa at the church’s headquarters in Machakos town Reverend Dr. Timothy Ndambuki who wished all the elected leaders from the region the best as they strife to serve the electorates.He further committed to keep close relation with the regions leadership to enable the them work fully for their people at the grassroot level.

The host Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua welcomed his counterparts Charity Kaluki Ngilu and Prof. Kivutha Kibwana of Kitui and Makueni counties respectively to the SEKEB Forum.The bloc is composed of Machakos, Makueni and Kitui counties. The three made their way into the church grounds early Friday 16th November accompanied by their County Speakers among other high ranked county officers.Akamba Elders (Atumia ma Thome), Leaders of Majoruty and Minority from Makueni and Machakos counties had also attended the economic conference.

In her adress, Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu called on all elected Ukambani leaders representing various spheres of the country to utilize local resources to end poverty in the region.She supported her remarks by saying that the region has been bestowed with vast natural resources enough to change the status quo in the region if well harnessed.She further called on the three governors to jointly support each other’s key milestone development projects which are highly dependent on others input.
