Camel herders have continued causing residents of Kitui East, Kitui South, Mwingi central and Mwingi North constituencies sleepless nights despite their cry to the central government to eradicate the herders.
Speaking within his constituency, Kitui East member of Parliament, Nimrod Mbai has expressed his dissatisfaction with the administration putting the blame on Kitui county Commissioner.
Somali herders have always caused havoc in Ukambani regions where at some points residents are forced to flee their homes in fear of attack by the armed bandits.
Last year alone, more than 30 lives were lost following this rivalry.
Nimrod insisted that they cannot co exist with Somali camel herders and that the county Commissioner is working against the community’s wish instead of using legal power to push them out.
The Jubilee party elected Legislator pointed out that if the County Commissioner has been compromised by the bandits, then he will force those supporting the government to withdraw for they cannot support the same government that is inflicting pain to the common mwananchi.
