As the world today came together to celebrate World Aids Day, Mwingi Central residents within Kitui County turned out in large numbers to test and know their HIV status.
Over 600 residents showed up to know their status in an event that was spearheaded by Kenya Medical Training College, Mwingi campus.
Queen Kimola, a Mwingi town resident who has lived with HIV and Aids for twenty years now urged anyone who is not aware of her status to come out and test.
Queen who is a middle aged woman has involved herself with sensitising the youth about dangers of Aids and how they can prevent themselves as well as giving encouragement and guidelines to those infected by the virus.
However, Queen said stigmatization in the community has reduced unlike before and there are fewer lives being lost as a result of this viral disease.
