Kitui local farmers are expected to reap heavily from the much awaited Second Annual Kitui Cultural Festival and Goat Auction event scheduled on 7th and 8th December at Nguni primary school in Nguni Ward, Mwingi Central Sub County.The county annual event has been split into two consecutive distinctive phases, the cultural part and the goat auction component each with a different scope.The cultural part incorporates the traditional foods, songs and dances and shall precede the goat parade phase.
The overseeing Chief Guest to the eagerly awaited cultural function shall be Kitui County Senator Hon. Enoch Wambua assisted by the Senate Speaker Hon. Ken Lusaka among other invited personalities.The duo are expected to lead thousands of Kitui County livestock keepers countywide in marking the auction function where a mass selling of goats is expected to be made at a standard price of KSh 7, 000 each goat.
This years second cultural fete is expected to be much more colourful compared to the previous function with thousands of local farmers are expected to flood at Nguni primary grounds ready to translate the function to realism.The event planners have confirmed their readiness and thorough preparedness to enhance success of the much hyped targeting the indigenous goat keepers.
The county function was founded a year ago to promote and embrace the cultural diversity and to hasten the formation of a marketing Cooperative society to ease village farmers’ livestock marketing with Senator Wambua as the annual event Patron.Through the same plan, the village farmers are set to find a new avenue for marketing their livestock at better fixed prices.
