Kitui senator Enoch wambua has urged Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta to move with speed and sack all cabinet secretaries in his government who in one way or another have been named in graft cases, the senator’s sediments comes just a day after the president sacked one of his cabinet secretaries and reshuffled his cabinet.
Speaking during his tour at Tharaka Ward which is one of the areas which has been marginalized over the years in Kitui County, senator Wambua lauded the president for his bold step saying that in the war against corruption nobody should be spared and that it was high time that anyone named in any corruption scandal are met with the full force of the law, regardless of their social stature.
The legislator wondered why cabinet secretaries, who have been named in the Dams Scandals where billions of public funds have been wasted, were still holding their offices under the watch of the President Kenyatta’s led government.
Mr. Wambua also called upon the EACC to take keen interest in counties where rampant cases of corruption have been reported.
The senator of Kitui went further to invite the EACC to his county, to answer mysteries surrounding construction of Umaa Dam which has stalled for many years and nab anyone who might have been involved in embezzling of the millions of cash which were meant to make Kitui a water sufficient county after construction of one of the biggest water catchments in history.
Senator Wambua said that he considers all those who engage in corruption activities as fools who should desist from their evil activities, and those leading the war against the vice as courageous men and women whom ought to be respected for their noble course.
