Residents plying Kwa Mulei-Kiromboko. route in Kiomo/Kyethani Ward, Mwingi West constituency , of Kitui County are pleading with the county government through their Member of county assembly in the relevant ministry to quickly step in and solve transport hiccups which has befell the area for sometime now.
According to Munyoki Ngomo, a driver along the said route, the road is in a distasteful state, ranging from unending pot holes, very narrow and also so bushy,this has accelerated numerous accidents among other dangers.
“I have carried pregnant women in labour in two different occasions who never make it to the hospital, having to miscarry due to the bad state of the road,” said Munyoki.
Munyithya Kathuri a Boda Boda operator in the area complains of the accidents along the area as currently two women are admitted at Mwingi Level 4 hospital following an accident.
” The road is very narrow thus it is difficult for two vehicles to by pass each other, resulting into many accidents,” complained Kathuri.
Mwikya Onesmus another driver complained of recurring back aches urging leaders in the area to swiftly act on the road menace.
Tabitha Kavindu, a business woman pleaded with the area Mca to heed to their cry for a group of residents have taken the initiative to make some roads in the area for themselves.
” There is a group of youths who have decided to make the roads on their own because roads in Kiomo ward are in pathetic state and very little is being done to curb the hiccup,” complained Tabitha.
