Mwingi parents urged to embrace 100% education transition.

Kitui County Executive Committee Member for Education,Youth development and ICT ,David Kivoto has pleaded with parents of Mui,Mwingi East sub-county within Kitui to fully embrace 100% education transition in a bid to  better tomorrow’ society.

Addressing teachers, parents and students at Mui vocational centre on Thursday where a cheque of ksh. 500,000 to roof a dormitory in the center was issued, Kivoto told parents that Kitui government has always backed TVETs  by paying for every learner’s school fee amounting to Ksh.15,000.

“Every student gets 15,000 shillings from the county government as a way of easing parents burden,” said the Minister.

In addition, parents were urged to ensure they take all pupils who cleared standard eight and have not joined secondary schools to join vocational centers to acquire relevant skills in order to be fully prepared for the job market.

“Pupils who did not get chances of joining secondary schools should not stay home. let them join TVETs to equip them with proper skills and be ready for job market’” Kivoto emphasized.

Kitui Deputy Governor, Wathe Nzau who had also graze the occasion pointed out that Governor Ngilu’s  government has spend ksh.104 million to purchase medicines which will be distributed to all heath facilities across the county.

“30%  of budget allocation has been channeled to health sector in a bid to ensure locals  are fit heath wise,” stated the DG.
