Insecurity: Kitui residence forced to sleep in bushes



Following a rise in cases of insecurity incidents with the latest one being the death of an elderly man, the residents of Sosoma village in Kitui County want security beefed.

On Monday evening a 61 year old Umai Ngothya was shot five times and his head cut by an unknown gang His relatives blame the attack on Tana River herders saying that they are causing them sleepless nights and are now forced to sleep in the bush because the attackers may strike back and kill others.

Residents also accused police of being slow in responding to attacks.
Sosoma police inspector‚ Geoffrey Karemia‚ said that they are conducting an operation to flush out all criminals but for now‚ no one has been arrested in connection with the death of Umai.
