David Musila, Kitui Senator has asked school heads not to hold certificates of students who have finished primary and Secondary education
He said some schools heads punish innocent students by withholding their certificates for not clearing school fees.
“Law does not allow any school head to hold on to any certificate after it has been cleared by the Kenya National Examination Council. I am going to bring a new law in two weeks, which will see KCSE certificates sent directly to the parents,” Musila said.
He said schools holding the certificates are punishing school leavers since many cannot secure jobs or further their education without the certificates.
