Governor Julius Malombe has differed with Kitui West MP Francis Nyenze over claims that the county boss is sidelining other leaders and leading a government riddled with corruption.
Dr Malombe said it was unfair for Mr Nyenze to try to depict him as a lone ranger.
Speaking at Kiatine Africa Inland Church (AIC), Matinyani location in Nyenze’s constituency, Malombe said the roles and duties of MPs were clearly defined and it looked strange for Nyenze to usurp responsibilities that were not his.
“I expected you to stand here and tell us what you have done in your oversight duty of the national government to ensure Kitui County gets its due share of the 85 per cent of the national budget. You should also tell us how you are spending the CDF. Instead, you are trying to usurp the role of MCAs in over-sighting the county government,” Malombe said.
He urged leaders to avoid utterances and actions that might make them inferior and degrade their positions.
