His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta’s visit to the Lower Eastern counties of Kitui, Machakos and Makueni scheduled for May 19th, 20th and 21st has been pushed to a later date.
A new date for the visit will be communicated in due time says State House Spokesperson and Secretary of Communication, Manoah Esipisu.
The Kamba people will have to wait a little longer before they can host the President as the visit is likely to take place sometime in June. This comes barely a month after selected delegates from Ukambani region made a grand visit to State House where the President promised a basket of goodies for the region.
The President’s visit has been viewed by many as an indication to reinforce on the promises he made during the delegates’ State House visit.
The President is looking forward to interact with leaders and residents during his visit; as he seeks to highlight critical developmental needs of the region.
The President believes the additional period will give ample time for completion of preparations towards the visit.
