Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Kitui county Governor were on a tour of Mombasa over the weekend where they engaged the Kamba community living in the coast in a consultative forum on various matters.
The leaders held several meeting with the Kamba community living in Mombasa where they urged the people to support those of their own seeking elective posts in the forth-coming general election.
During the meetings the leaders emphasized on unity of purpose among Kamba community living in Mombasa, they said that Kamba community constituted a good percentage in the Coast region and it was necessary to take advantage of that.
We have 40% of Kamba being in Mombasa, 20% in Kwale and 12% in Kilifi county yet it has proved difficult to deliver even a single Member of County Assembly from the Kamba people.
The leaders called upon the people to wake up to the reality and support those of their own contesting for political seats.
They were quick to point out that, such measures were not tribal but are meant to create a voice of equal representation and fairness, hence with the statistics as identified, coast alone could deliver at least eight Members of Parliament and 21 Members of County Assembly with the will of the people.
