The Wiper Democratic Movement has said that President Uhuru has sidelined them in his plans to visit Ukambani later in June. They have expressed disgruntlement with the president’s approach saying none of the entire leadership of Ukambani has been involved.
Makueni Senator, Mutula Kilonzo Jr. says it was divisive for President Uhuru Kenyatta to have hosted a section of leaders from Ukambani while leaving others out. What’s more, planning a visit to Ukambani without the knowledge of its leadership is belittling and improper.
The senator said that in January last year, when the President visited Mtito Andei to inspect the construction of the standard gauge railway line, all leaders were invited. “The President met all leaders then, so what has changed now? He asked.
The memorandum we gave him then is the one he is actualizing with his upcoming visit. We are just reading on Facebook that he is coming,” said a disappointed Mr. Kilonzo Jr.
