What Mutua tells Wiper on Uhuru’s visit to Ukambani.

Machakos county will be the first stop for the president when he commences his tour of Ukambani mid next month.

Machakos Governor, Dr. Alfred Mutua has welcomed the news saying that the president’s visit will be a game changer. He said the President will commission projects that are of great importance to the residents of Machakos.

“I welcome the President and assure him that Machakos residents and leaders are grateful for the gesture,” said a jubilated Mutua.

He has criticized those opposed to the president’s visit saying, “Kambas are not used to being out of government and that’s why the President’s visit to Ukambani next month is hugely anticipated. Wiper party should not act as a gatekeeper. It is ridiculous to expect the President to consult political parties when visiting a region. The era of gatekeepers is long gone.”

The visit is scheduled to start in Machakos on 11th June, 2016 and culminate in Makueni on 13th June, 2016. The President is expected to commission a number of projects in the three counties of Ukambani when he makes the trip.
