The CORD coalition has been hit by a dilemma as the police, in a letter dated May 27 signed by Joseph Nasio for the Nairobi County Commander Japheth Koome indicated that Uhuru Park grounds is booked for three days by a religious group.
The CORD Coalition may now be forced to either look for alternative grounds or postpone their scheduled Madaraka Day celebrations rally all together.
The religious group Beyond Boundaries Ministry is expected hold a three days prayer crusade, the letter said in part.
The opposition had intended to hold a parallel rally at the grounds on 1 June to ‘celebrate’ the gains made by the Jubilee government while the President is expected to oversee the National Madaraka Day celebrations at Afraha Stadium in Nakuru.
The CORD supporters can now only wait for directions from their leaders on the fate of the said rally.
