As political arena continues to warm up ahead of the 2017 general elections, many candidates are popping up expressing their interests in various political seats one of the most visible being the Mwingi Central Constituency Member of Parliament contest.
MP Joe Mutambu who is the sitting MP and has been tagged as a Jubilee sympathizer is likely to face a fierce battle with the Wiper party leaders plotting to send him to a political grave accusing him of betrayal.
In the next general elections the honorable member who has already launched bid for his re-election will face former Public Works PS Gideon Mulyungi and former Law Society of Kenya president Eric Mutua, both of whom have strong support from the Wiper leadership.
The former LSK president is said to be having massive backing from the Kitui Senator David Musila, while Mulyungi has Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s blessings.
The two have on separate occasions vowed to give Joe a run for his money and are said to stop at nothing until they overthrow him.
The incumbent MP Joe has however, not received the news laying down and has in more than once been accused of using his buffs to frustrate efforts of his rivals to woo for votes.
He has expressed confidence in retaining his seat saying he does not need wiper to win the elections since he has delivered to his promise and won people’s hearts through his works.
