Governor Malombe warns critics against politicizing education matters

Kitui Governor Malombe with other county executives during the event

Governor Julius Malombe who was the chief guest at a prize giving event organized by the county a week ago, cautioned officials against politicizing education matters. He said the department has in three years improved, with KCPE and KCSE exams scores going higher.

He lashed out at Kitui politicians who criticize the county’s education standards.

“They are pursuing egocentric interests and will always be blind to achievements realised through the cooperation of my government and the county education director,” Malombe said.

Malombe told off his critics arguing that we are all stakeholders of the education sector in our county and each individual has a responsibility to support the system.

The top schools were feted for exemplary performances at the event attended by top educationalists in the county and other education stakeholders.

A taskforce was set up and targets set for all categories of schools in the county for both primary and secondary schools to be achieved in the next 5 years in the effort to improve academic performance in the county and encourage competition.
