Hardly a day after the Education CS Fred Matiangi insisted that schools would stay open until the stipulated new term dates, students have now moved from acts of arson to an even better strategy.
The students of Darajani Secondary School in Kibwezi have surprised many after they were reported to have convened an emergency assembly meeting and summoned all their teachers on Thursday July 28.
The daring students who seemed to unanimously agree to one mission, shocked their teachers when the demanded immediate closure of their school.
The students told the teachers that they were closing school and they did not intend to sit for the exams scheduled for following week.
The students did not give their teachers a chance to counter their actions as they lamented that, the teachers should appreciate that they had not resorted to burning or destroying any school property.
The students then lead the official closing of the school, asking one of their teachers to move a vote of thanks to them for being good students.
The students one by one marched out of the gate and went home unperturbed. Talk of guts!.
