Machakos County in partnership with World Bank to bring service closer home.

On August 2, Governor Mutua hosted Mr. James Brumby the World Bank director for public service and performance where he called on the World Bank Group to support delivery of the county’s development agenda and boost capacity to implement projects which will spur the county’s economic growth.

“The World Bank officials, including Mr. Jens Kristensen, George Larbi and Ms. Christine Owour commended my government for its achievements particularly in delivery of clean drinking water, which we have invested Kshs. 2.5 billion to ensure that every household in Machakos can access domestic water, construction of new roads, street lighting among many projects.” Wrote Mutua on his FB page.

“I thanked the officials for the closer working relationship between my government and them.” Gov adds.

It is through this partnership that Machakos county will soon unveil an online investment portal spearheaded by our Trade department and the World Bank Group.

During the visit, the team also toured Machakos Level 5 hospital and was impressed with the hospital’s infrastructure and equipment.
