Machakos governor Alfred Mutua has received hostile response from Kenyans online after he gave a 48 hours ultimatum to doctors, threatening that they would be facing the sack if they do not resume duty.

The pronouncement that was made on Thursday evening saw Kenyans and especially Machakos residents unleash breakneck retaliatory comments that floored the facebook post he had made in regards to the matter.

Charles Wanjohi PR will not treat your wananchi, if you don’t change your approach to doctors, you’ll be left with none in your count….

Solomon Kuria Dr Alfred Mutua, you are very good with movies…at times you confuse this county with cobra squad…
>Nick Mwenda at the end of the day, yours is a failed leadership. You have overestimated your power, bwana Governor
Just like you, doctors are civil servants. You have no legal basis to fire a doctor, you have never hired one.

Luice Mueni Yes the doctors are on strike. I lost a relative last night in the same hospital. Nothing is operating please. Sad

The comments went on.

Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua who has been at loggerheads with his health officers has given striking doctors a 48-hour ultimatum to return to work or face the door.

The medics went on strike on Monday protesting the sacking of the Kathiani hospital medical superintendent and two others.

Mutua said he had fired the administrators who happened to be doctors for absconding work and lethargy but doctors accused him of high-handedness and interfering with their job.

Doctors unions have continuously expressed dissatisfaction with Machakos County government and have openly said they cannot be taught their work by Machakos First lady Lilian Ng’ang’a and MCAs who keep on meddling in their work.

The union has threatened to declare Machakos County government worst employer and withdraw their staff. At the same time, residents have been blaming the governor or the health crisis being experience in the county as health facilities are already paralyzed.
