Wiper leader and Cord co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka has expressed optimism that he will be appointed as the Cord flag bearer to battle out for the top seat.
He has called on rebel members who had decamped from Wiper to rethink their decision as they may risk missing out in forming the next government.
Kalonzo has said he is confident that he will floor Kenyatta in the next general elections to become the next Kenyas president, he said the strayed members of Wiper must make a swift comeback before that happens.
The issue of the presidential candidate in Cord has however caused jitters as the three principals have individually declared interests in vying for the presidential seat over the past months.
Wiper Party members who have been backing their leader had earlier threatened to leave the CORD coalition should their party leader and co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka not be automatically tapped as the 2017 general election presidential candidate.
However, Kalonzo said his presidential bid is unstoppable. He appeared assertive that he will win next year’s elections.
He told off his critics saying those who continue insulting me and those who decamped from Wiper, may regret their move if they do not come back to the fold.
Kalonzo spoke on Saturday at Athi-Kiaoni Market in Kibwezi during the funeral of Simon Munywoki, a one-time Kanu leader.Kalonzo urged elected leaders to work as a team to help him win.
