The former Lands CS and Kitui County gubernatorial aspirant Charity Ngilu has ridiculed the incumbent governor Malombe’s entourage that includes a mobile toilet and red carpet while moving around the county terming it as extravagant and uncalled for.
Hon. Ngilu questioned the need of a special toilet for the governor while the toilets are literally available in public spaces across the county.
What’s even more, it is alleged that the palatial services for the governor and his team cost the tax payer a whooping Kshs. 12 Million to procure.
“ Why would one need a red carpet and a mobile toilet to help themselves while during their campaigns they walked on bare ground and used the wananchi toilets. What changed? ” Ngilu asked mocking the current high-level treatment offered to the incumbent.
Ngilu also questioned the humongous amount used to procure the services saying such a person, so insensitive with public funds does not deserve a second chance.
She was speaking at a harambee on Sunday August 6 in Mutha, where she used the opportunity to campaign for her bid saying she stood as the best bet to replace the county boss who have failed in delivering to the people of Kitui.
The audio went viral on social media evoking different feelings, with critics siding with Ngilu and seizing the opportunity to punch hard, one posted, “Ngilu is right, that Kshs 12 Million mobile toilet that is pulled by two Prados can pay all fees balances for Mutha Secondary School students and the balance can be used to drill five boreholes in Mutha Ward.”
