Peter Kenneth set to vie for Murang’a County governor seat in 2017

The 2013 Presidential candidates Peter Kenneth have broken his silence regarding his political stand just a year before the 2017 General Elections.

After the long wait, the soft spoken politician has finally revealed his next political move. Peter Kenneth is set to battle out for Muranga County gubernatorial seat in 2017 in a bid to unseat the incumbent Mwangi wa Iria.

The former presidential aspirant had promised to make public his political determination before the end of the year for either the Presidential or Gubernatorial position.

“I have seen Murang’a people saying I should run as their governor with others saying I should try another stab at the Presidency. I have also had people writing to me telling me if I will try and rescue Nairobi but time for decision making has not reached,” he had indicated in April during an interview with KTN.

Kenneth said that his supporters insisted on the Murang’a gubernatorial seat and he had to bow to pressure to serve the people of Muranga.

The former Gatanga legislator gained popularity during the last general elections impressing many with his ideologies and development-based brand of politics but unfortunately he did not garner enough votes and emerged fourth.

Peter Kenneth is the party leader of the Kenya National Congress (KNC).
