Kitui first lady Edith Malombe confirmed her ardent support to the Kitui county residents in her tour of Tseikuru ward in Mwingi North constituency yesterday.
Addressing a large number of residents in Tseikuru Pry school grounds where she attended a fundraiser to boost a Women’s Sacco, the 1st lady elucidated that her self-sacrificing support for women and children through Kyeni Foundation will be long-drawn-out to all parts of the vast county.
“My foundation will ensure support to every woman and child in this county, Kyeni Foundation will extend accomplishments to all parts of Kitui County without discrimination” she said.
She clarified that she does not work for Kitui county government and stated that she is only a partner in the county undertakings.
She warned leaders against using divisive politics to woo voters into joining their political teams.
Through her Beyond Zero campaign, the county First Lady has ensured that women and children access health services through the mobile clinics in different parts of the county ever since First Lady Margret Kenyatta toured the county on 11th Nov 2014 including an extra one bought by her foundation.
Kitui was acknowledged as the first county in Kenya to obligate funds to boost the Beyond Zero initiative.
