Read below the emotional message former VP and now award winner H.E Kalonzo Musyoka posted on his official Facebook page.
“I was honored as the African Dignitary Award Winner of the year at New York, a couple of hours ago, under the Global Officials of Dignity (G.O.D) Awards category.
I would like to most sincerely thank the We Care for Humanity (WCH) – the organizers of the Global Officials of Dignity Awards, for choosing me as the Africa Award Winner.
It is such an honor to be chosen from among the many eminent African leaders. This is a gesture that I do not take lightly, and I will endeavor to represent your ideals with the utmost humility and forthrightness.
In attendance were Kenya’s permanent Representative at the U.N., Ambassador Macharia Kamu and his deputy Madam Koki Muli, among other Kenyans in the U.S.A to who I am grateful as well.
I dedicate this Award to the global community. I dedicate it to Africa, my continent. I dedicate it to Kenya, my beloved country.
Last, but not least, I dedicate it to The Kalonzo Musyoka Foundation (KMF) – the foundation that was formed with the sole aim of assisting the less fortunate in society.
KMF started a bursary fund in 1988 that catered for the needs of bright children from poor backgrounds. The bursary fund later evolved into a full-fledged Foundation in 2005 and God has done marvelous things for us at the Foundation through the lovely kids who grace this institution and make us proud.
May God the Almighty continue to give hope to the needy children that rely on the Foundation for their daily sustenance; above all, May He continues to give hope and dignity to the needy children of the world.
I am truly humbled, yet extremely excited and exalted, by this Award! Thank you and God bless you tremendously.”
