Sharing nude pictures on phone could easily land you in prison.

Facebook and Whatsapp are major sites where exchange of nude photos is rampant.

In a new bill tabled before the parliament on Wednesday August 24, sending nude images could easily land you in prison, the bill seeks to punish people that are fond of sharing nude photos on the social media.

The bill will tame the latest craze of exchanging naked photos that has taken over digital space by storm, with socialites being the biggest victims.

The bill is proposing a fine of Sh300,000 or a jail term of 30 years –or both- for any person convicted of forwarding naked pictures of other people.

The Bill is sponsored by Nyeri Senator Mutahi Kagwe, who is the chairperson of Committee on Information and Technology.

The only uphill task for the law enforcers will be in obtaining the evidence from some instant messaging applications like WhatsApp which have end to end encryption.

If the bill is passed into law, this will see Kenya enter the list of many other coutries that illegalized sharing of revenge porn over the internet.
