The Deputy President William Ruto wasted no time to publicly expose over 40 legislators who have decamped from their former parties to join the new Jubilee Party, among them are 10 MPs from the Lower Eastern region who were present during the Jubilee merger celebration at Kasarani Sept 10.

Speaking on behalf of the Lower Eastern defectors, Kilome MP said they had made a conscious decision to fly the Jubilee party flag in Ukambani. Assuring the president that the new team will deliver victory to Jubilee.

“We as the team from the Lower Eastern we have made a deliberate decision to join a party that represents the face of Kenya and unites all Kenyans across the board, Ukambani will not be the same again. We will walk with you Mr. president and deliver our people.” She said in her brief speech at the grand launch.

A total of 40 legislators are said to have moved to Jubilee, a move that has been criticized by the Cord leader as playing cheap and as a quick rush for money. Senator Orengo termed the defectors as useless and blinded by personal gain.
