Some of the Ukambani legislators who decamped to Jubilee party have already launched campaigns to woo Ukambani voters to support president Uhuru Kenyatta in his second term presidential bid come next year.
The MPs led a campaign team in Matuu among them Kitui South MP Rachael Kaki and Area MP Francis Mwangangi accompanied by Murang’a Governor Mwangi WA Iria.
The MPs called on the residents to support the president to benefit from the goods that come with supporting ruling government. Saying they are tired of being in opposition where Kambas have reaped nothing.
They accused the opposition leader of being dishonest with the Kamba people saying he should allow Kalonzo Musyoka to fly the Cord flag as was agreed in 2013.
“We have made a conscious decision to change camps, I have not seen any benefit in being in opposition, let the Kamba people make the right decision and work with the Jubilee government.” Said Kaki, during the rally in Matuu.
The 10 MPs who joined Jubilee from Ukambani have vowed to work with President Uhuru Kenyatta and support the Jubilee government to ensure they deliver victory to Uhuru.
The leaders have advised the residents to elect leaders on the basis of their track record com 2017.
