A year ago, a budding politician and a former University of Nairobi student leader David Osiany surprised the love of his life with a proposal live on radio as she went about her usual duties.
The two lovebirds that wedded in Sept 2015 have now marked a year together in style at the Nzambani rock.
A seemingly happy Syombua in an interview with KO said they had chosen to celebrate their first wedding anniversary at her home county Kitui and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the famous Nzambani rock tourist site which is just few minutes from Kitui Town.
“The sight of the county from the top of the rock was the greatest experience I’ve ever had in this country. It was so amazing and breathtaking. Kitui is beautiful.” Said rather excited Syombua.
“I am however disappointed that the county government of Kitui through the Ministry of Culture and Tourism has done nothing yet to market this awesome place to the world.” She added
“Kitui is so beautiful with lovely places where people can unwind and take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city but visibility is an issue.” Syombua said faulting the county government of Kitui for doing little to sell out the county.
“We should have a billboard at the junction of Syongila-Kabati road to make noise about this rock and the fascinating stories and myths about this rock should make everyone want to visit this place.” She suggested.
“I and my husband David Osiany have had a great time at the rock site.” She affirmed.
A year later Syombua still wears that grin that she had after the surprise proposal, their lavish wedding was attended by former premier Raila Odinga among a host of other VIPs.
