Cord told to stop threatening defectors.

Cord co-principals Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka exchange a word.

After ODM and Wiper parties issued threats to MPs who defected to Jubilee now some politicians have come out to defend the rebels saying they did nothing wrong to exercise their political freedom of choice.

ODM had earlier asked 13 elected leaders who defected from the party to show cause why they should not be de-registered while Wiper party leader warned the rebel members to expect a by-election since they were bound to be expelled.

Musyoka told the legislators who defected from Wiper to join Jubilee to prepare to defend their action before the party’s disciplinary committee before being expelled.

“You are either in Jubilee or Wiper.” Kalonzo said over the weekend.

However Bungoma woman representative Reginalda Wanyonyi has urged Cord leaders to stop threatening members who defected to Jubilee with calls for by-elections since elected leaders can exercise their democratic rights by moving to different parties.

She said with only 10 months to the general election and it was unfair to subject voters to by-elections instead of allowing them to prepare for a major poll in 2017.
