Gov. Mutua launches football tournament In Ukambani

Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has launched a tourney that will see youth nature their talent and the winning team take home a cash prize of Kshs.3 Million.

The Maendeleo Chap Chap Tournament will draw teams from Machakos, Makueni and Kitui counties. Mutua said the tournament is aimed at nurturing youth talent, adding that they will select locations in the three counties where the games will take place; he pledged to hold meetings with various stakeholders to discuss on strategies to run the tournament professionally.

“The football tournament will also provide a platform for our people to support their own as they develop their personal talent,” Mutua posted online.

The governor said each location shall be allocated one soccer ball and two jerseys for the players that will be taking part in the tournament and it will last six months. The football tourney has been dubbed ‘Dr Alfred Mutua Maendeleo Chap Chap Football Tournament’.
