Kitui South residents to walk to statehouse next week


Kitui – Kibwezi road is the only class B road that doesn’t have tarmac in Kenya. This is one thing that H.E Uhuru Kenyatta knows squarely.

Kitui South MP Rachel Kaki who’s now in Jubilee has been mute about Kitui – Kibwezi road. The people she represents have decided match to the statehouse next week to protest against poor state of the KIBWEZI – KITUI road.

The outcry is being led by several youth who feel that the government has neglected the area since independence.

The residents say that they have now resolved to walk to statehouse, Nairobi to present a petition to President Uhuru so that he can intervene on the same.

The angry residents have said they are tax payers just like other Kenyans and they deserve development. They are tired of empty and fake promises from the Government. “This is one development that will/should not be used as a campaign tool” – Abel Mutua

The KITUI- KIBWEZI road is a class B road which the residents believe its the only class B road which has not been tarmacked.
Residents claim that the road has always been a campaign tool by every government and they are now tired of false promises.
