Kitui Governor H.E Julius Malombe has yet again emphasized on the prominence of a sane society as elections draw near.
Addressing mourners yesterday during the sendoff ceremony of the late businessman Wambua Muli in Chuluni Ward, the county boss doomed acts of agitation by the political class intended to disrupt peace during public gatherings and heartened all leaders to discourse peace and accord among all people.
“Any leadership that influences commotion and disorders during events like this is invalid, we must adjust for better” He said.
The Governor echoed the need to participate in the ongoing mass voter registration activity to upsurge numbers that are decisive not only in the local elections but also in the national bargaining of resource share in the country.
“We are advising our people who have IDs and are not registered to take advantage of the remaining period to register and vote the candidate of their choice in the nominations and the main elections’’ He added.
Other leaders present were Kitui East MP Hon. Marcus Muluvi, SEKU Vice Chancellor Professor Geoffrey Muluvi and Kitui Central MP Hon. Makali Mulu.
All leaders highlighted the need to certify that Kitui people meet the requirements to join in the democratic election process through voter eligibility come August this year.
