After careful consideration and wide consultation, H.E Dr. Julius Makau Malombe has identified Mrs. Agnes Kambua Musee as his running mate for the 2017 Kitui County Gubernatorial race.
Mrs. Musee hails from Muumoni Ward in Mwingi North Constituency and will be part of a dedicated, grassroots oriented campaign team that is committed to improving the socio-economic status and livelihood of the people of Kitui County.
An accomplished career educationist, she is a long serving member of the Kenya National Union of Teachers(KNUT). Mrs. Musee is a seasoned leader who has provided focused leadership in several capacities including serving as the KNUT Executive secretary Kyuso Branch.
Mrs Musee was the first woman executive Secretary in Kenya and the KNUT Kitui county treasurer. She is a graduate of the University of Nairobi. She has served as the head teacher in various schools in Mwingi.
Mrs Musee brings political experience and grassroots mobilising capacity having run for the position of Member of Parliament in Mwingi North during the 2013 general election.
Her nomination seems to be well thought as it is expected to particularly resonate with the teaching fraternity across all the sub-counties who have worked closely with teachers in the county and country.
Dr.Malombe formally announced Mrs. Musee’s nomination on Monday 15th May 2017 at Kenya’s Kenya Forest Research Institute.
