Kitui East parliamentary aspirant Mulaimu Mavusyu has altogether withdrawn his support for Charity Ngilu’s gubernatorial bid after he failed to clinch Narc’s ticket.
He will henceforth run on an NPK (National Party of Kenya) ticket after campaigning for the former lands CS bore him no fruits.
Speaking during Syokimau Fm’s “Amuka na Syokimau” live breakfast show, Mr Mulaimu slyly dodged questions relating to his position concerning Ngilu’s candidature.
Interestingly, the hosting presenter tried in vain to get him to disclose his preferred candidate in Kitui’s gubernatorial race, confirming that he has since become disgruntled and ceased rooting for Mama Ngilu.
Mulaimu received a serious political blow after he lost the ticket to his arch-rival Millitonic Kimanzi Kitute who according to a survey conducted by KituiOnline in several parts of this constituency shows that he has the “numbers” which can accord Ngilu a competitive edge against his opponents Senator David Musila and Governor Julius Malombe.
Kitui East MP seat has attracted five candidate including the incumbent Major Mutua Muluvi (Wiper) , Mr Kitute (Narc), Nimrod Mbai (Jubilee), Bishop Kyavua (Ford Kenya) and Mulaimu (NPK) with opinion polls placing Kitute as the man to beat in the August 8 General Election.
