Pro-Jubilee utterances by Senator David Musila and Kitui West MP Francis Nyenze last Friday have elicited a heated debate concerning the Kamba political path as the country prepares for the August General Election.
Local leaders have expressed mixed reaction on this issue with some terming the remarks as a great betrayal to the community which largely supports the opposition Nasa.
Kitui Central parliamentary hopeful Henry Malonza aka Kituti Monday said views of the two senior Kitui leaders do not in way represent the stand of the Kamba nation.
“The statements do not reflect the true political position of the Kamba people. Their preferred coalition is evident and neither is it Jubilee. So insinuating that they will rally behind President Uhuru Kenyatta is misleading,” Kituti told journalists in his office.
He however noted that there was no need to crucify Musila and Nyenze without allowing them a fair opportunity to clear the air.
