Kawangware residents must get back to their feet, Governor Sonko

The newly elected Governor of Nairobi County, Mike Sonko, has once again demonstrated how generous he can get by extending his helping hand to victims of poll violence in Kawangware.

Mr. Sonko has gone ahead to pledge KSh. 100,000 to families who lost their loved ones as a direct consequence of the violence that ensued during the 26th repeat presidential  election.

He has also indicated that the County Government of Nairobi will be considering ways of assisting businesses affected by the violence get back to their feet.

Governor Sonko made his donation through the MediaMax Network Limited led initiative dubbed “Restoring Hope”.

Media reports indicate that tens of people from both sides of the political divide, NASA and Jubilee have been adversely affected by violence in the two factions’ strongholds.

In his message to the people of Nairobi, Governor Sonko has asked people to preach peace and forgiveness.

He further made an appeal to residents to foster unity by reminding them that politics comes and goes.
