A section of Ukambani leaders led by Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana have insisted that the Wiper Democratic Movement Party should embark on working out its proper place in the opposition coalition NASA ahead of the 2022 general elections.
Speaking during Wiper’s special meeting held at a hotel in Athi River, Machakos county, the governor alongside other leaders from the region among them, Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo, Women representatives Joyce Kamene and Rose Museo of Machakos and Makueni respectively, declared that should Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka stick with NASA, then the MOU signed by the coalition’s principals should hold.
“Wiper intends to stamp its authority with regard with the MOU signed by NASA affiliate parties which identified Kalonzo Musyoka as the coalition’s presidential candidate come 2022,” Said the Governor.
Wiper’s Organizing Secretary Robert Mbui who doubles as the Kathiani legislator, noted that there was a scheme by their ODM counterparts to push for their leader Raila Odinga’s presidency in the said General elections.
In attendance were Members of Parliament Gideon Mulyungi of Mwingi Central, Robert Mbui of Kathiani constituency, Jessica Mbali of Kibwezi East and the two Women Representatives of Machakos and Makueni counties. Mwingi North’s lawmaker Paul Nzengu and his Kilome counterpart Thaddeus Zambia also graced the meeting with their presence.
