Miguna must be presented in the high court in Kenya, insists Orengo.

Counsel James Orengo insists the courts have not options other than to compel the government to physically present embattled Kenyan-Canadian lawyer Miguna Miguna to court.

Moments after brief presentation at Kajiado High Court, Miguna was sneaked out of the country by authorities for allegedly being an alien.

“The court must order government to present him physically for proceedings against him. The file was opened and the matter is active in court.

“That is the law and no one should contravene it. He must jet back soonest when court reconvenes for his case,” he said.

According to Miguna, authorities confiscated his passport for allegedly having renounced his Kenyan citizenship, a claim he rejects.

Judge Luka Kimaru had suspended any criminal proceedings against Miguna until police present him to court physically.
