Vice chief of defence forces Lt General Joseph Kasaon has warned the public and especially the youths intending to participate in the ongoing KDF recruitment to be aware of cons.
Mr Kasaon warned that during such exercises cons take advantage of desperate parents looking for chances for their children and con them thousands of money promising them recruitment chances.
According Kasaon, 10 people lost about Sh1.9 million during last year’s exercise to such individuals purporting to have influence during the process.
“It is important that Kenyans are sensitized to be wary of such people. Any person purporting to have the influence to recruit or issue an admission letter away from the designated recruitment centre, fall in that category,” he asserted.
He further urged the qualified youths to turn up for the exercise, adding transparency shall be observed during the entire exercise.
