Mwingi, 19TH Feb 2018: The cabinet secretary in the ministry of foreign affairs Dr Monica Juma yesterday held her thanksgiving prayers at Good Shepherd Catholic church at Mwingi Town where she vowed to carry on with the wish of President Uhuru Kenyatta of spurring development and promoting cohesion in the country.
The CS told Kenyans that the president has a big agenda for the country and that he will take the best part of his next five years to promote unity of the nation.
Speaking after the mass, Monica Juma said that she chose to come back home and thank God for enabling her to be appointed as the new CS in the docket of foreign affairs.
Celebrating the Mass, catholic Ach Bishop for the diocese of Nyeri who is also the acting bishop in the Diocese of Kitui and Machakos Antony Muheria launched Lenten campaign in the Diocese of Kitui called upon Kenyans to promote peace and tranquillity of the nation.
In a campaign termed Reconciliation for Peaceful Coexistence and National Integration, the Catholic Bishop called upon Christians in the country to co-exist with one another in peace and to pray for unity in the country, especially during this period of lent.
