Kisayani fraternity now have a reason to smile at after Kitui South legislator Hon. Rachael Nyamai promised to foot the 1.5 Million that KCB Kitui Branch had owed the school. This bank had provided the loan to aid the school purchase it’s own bus to help ease the transportation of students for various academic trips to enhance and broaden their general knowledge.
Early this year,Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) Kitui branch advertised the likely auction of Kisayani Secondary School bus due to the failure of the school to complete the remaining funds. The bank took this action after the school became unable to repay back the loaner after the financial constraints hit the learning institution. This made the institution unable to pay back the bank within the set time frame for repayment.
The local legislator promised to fully pay the remaining KSh. 1.5 Million loan to the bank so that the school can fully own the vehicle. She added that it would be a shock for the school to have their bus auctioned. The bus has aided the school much in academic tours for the learners and has also helped the school for the long ques of booking vehicles from other schools and even the public sector.
“I cannot allow Kisayani Secondary school bus that serves my of Kitui South Constituency to be auctioned, not when am their Member of Parliament” the parliamentarian said.
According to William Musyoka ,a parent in the school says if it were not for their MP’s continued financial and moral support the school would not be where it is now.He praised the MP for her continued support in transforming the local education centre to become an epitome of academic excellence in the larger County of Kitui.
“This is the second time Hon. Nyamai is coming to save our school.First, through the CDF some funds were allocated for purchase of the school bus and now she has come in again to fully settle the outstanding balance of 1.5 Million shillings to the KCB” Musyoka said.
