Mwingi west MP Charles Nguna has raised concerns over the recent agreement between the Opposition leader Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta with the duo pledging to work together, claiming that such an agreement has so far compromised the independence of the national assembly.

During an interview at Bondoni in his constituency, the Mr Nguna has said that parliament can no-longer question anything handed to it by the executive and the pact between Raila and President Uhuru has worsened the situation, as the executive has continued to impose its control over parliament.

He lamented that owing to the partnership between Jubilee and ODM parties, it has become almost impossible to pass any legislation in parliament against the will of the executive.

However, the legislator has said the peace agreement is laudable though measures should be put in place to ensure that, the executive doesn’t undermine operations of other arms of government.
