A body of a 14 year old boy, who drowned yesterday has been retrieved from mituki ya iveti dam in Waita ward of Mwingi central in Kitui county at around 12:45 pm today(Monday)
Confirming the tragic incidence, Mwingi central police boss, John Nyamu has said that Nduva Mutuku went swimming on Sunday at around 1600 hours when he met his painful death.
Efforts to immediately retrieve the body of the standard seven pupil at Munguu primary school were fruitless due to lack of experienced divers in the area.
It took the involvement of the police to see the body off the dam.
