Parliamentary documents to be secured in Kenyan libraries


The parliamentary committee for ICT and Innovation in the national assembly on Tuesday toured Mwingi National Library in their bid to create sections in the National libraries where material concerning the operations of the national assembly since independence are kept for public to read.

Speaking during the visit North Mugirango MP Joash Nyamache Nyamoko who is the chair to the committee said that they have been visiting various the Kenya national libraries in order to ensure that they secure sections where parliamentary documents can be placed for easy access by Kenyans who might be interested in knowing the progress made by the national assembly over the years.

Nyamoko said that the move is aimed at enabling the public to access information with ease in line with the constitution which grants them the right to information.

Mwingi North MP Paul Nzengu on his side said that major improvements ought to be done to the National libraries in order to boost the level of education in the country and give readers easy access to reading materials
