Mwingi central MP Dr. Gideon Mulyungi has refuted claims that legislators from Kitui County met Deputy President William Ruto last week to seek a way of aligning themselves with him in 2022 elections, instead the legislator said that their meeting with the deputy president was aimed at seeking more development for Kitui from the national government.
Speaking at Musila garden stadium during an event where development cheques worth Ksh.22 million were issued to all 180 schools in the constituency to boost infrastructure, Dr. Mulyungi said that the only other reason of meeting with DP Ruto was to seek his support for the Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, amid looming fallout in the Jubilee party.
The vocal Wiper Party legislator refuted claims that Kitui MPs may have shifted their loyalty from Mr Kalonzo Musyoka who is perceived to be the kingpin of Ukambani, towards DP Ruto.
Mr Mulyungi said that the Wiper party is willing to work with either side of the Jubilee administration incase fallout occur, as their only goal is to see Mr Musyoka ascent to the top seat of this nation come 2022.
