Machakos MCA’s want magistrate who presided over ministers oathing prosecuted

Machakos county assembly members have called for the investigation of the magistrate who presided kver the oathing of seven ministers appointed by Governor Mutua.
The MCA’s led by Majority leader Mark Muendo said that the appointment and oathing were not done in accordance with the law.

Muendo who also doubles as Kinanie ward member of county assembly said that the ministers were appointed contrary to the law and should not be allowed to resume offices or discharge any duties to the residents.

Muendo refuted claims that the assembly had not refused to vet nominated ministers by the governor.
He said that the assembly agreed that they will keep the matter pending until the supreme court determines goveenor Mutua’s case.

“We didn’t refuse to vet the nominees,we decided to hold the matter until the supreme court decides the appeal made by the governor, after that we would have held a sitting and vet his lost of nominees”, Said Muendo.

Muendo said that governor Mutua should be prosecuted for going against tge law in appointing the ungazetted ministers.

The deputy speaker Paul Museku said that the governor didn’t wait until 21 days are over after submitting the names of the nominees.

He said that since the submission the house has only met fourteen times.
